Photonics-2008 is the ninth in the series of biennial international conference in the field of Photonics held in India since 1992. It provides a forum for interaction and exchange of ideas among scientists, engineers, researchers, and users actively engaged in the area of Photonics.

Objectives:

This first edition of Invest in Photonics 2008, to be held on December 11-12 2008 in Bordeaux - France, targets to bring together the top 150 worldwide experts in the fields of photonics and investment in innovative technologies (capital investment companies, international industrial groups, innovative SMEs).

Each delegate is entitled to access to all conferences, round tables, technology workshops, technology pathways and two lunches, as well as to attend the evening event to be held on Thursday, December 11th. Accommodation and transport expenses are excluded.

Representing more than 1.000 members from industry, research and politics the Photonics21 Annual Meeting has become the major event to the European Photonics community.

The 3rd Annual Meeting of the platform Photonics 21 will be held at the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel, Brussels from Monday December 8, to Tuesday December 9, 2008.

The Russian Federation has tremendous scientific capital that it is willing to share with the EU. An association of Russia to the 7th European Research Framework Programme (FP 7) is being negotiated between the Russian Ministry of Science and Education and the European Commission which would allow Russian organisations to participate and to receive funding on similar conditions as those applicable to participants from the EU.
