It is held in conjunction with LASER World of PHOTONICS 2009, the international trade fair for optical technologies including components, systems and applications, so there is an intense exchange between the scientific and industrial sectors. Themes are selected and discussed based on their scientific relevance and the industrial impact. The WORLD OF PHOTONICS CONGRESS is a unique event that covers all topics of photonics. Topics range from the latest research and development including basic research, medical application, as well as lasers in manufacturing, sensors and industrial image processing to discussions about physical processes in new light source. The World of Photonics Congress groups together a large number of general and topical meetings covering all topics relevant to the development of modern laser and photonic science and technology. For 2009, a series of special joint sessions are being especially coordinated in order to highlight topics at the interface of the thematic areas covered by the participating conferences, with the topics covered including emerging areas in biophotonics, fundamentals and modeling of materials processing with lasers, Fiber Lasers and Amplifiers and metrology of optical components. Joint sessions are especially marked in the calls and programs. The World of Photonics Congress is sponsored by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Abstract Submissions and Deadlines
Prospective authors are requested to submit an abstract covering a minimum of half a page and a maximum of two pages. All accepted abstracts will be published in the EOS Conference Digest that will be available on-site at the beginning of the conference. Submission will open at a later date. Special Offer for AuthorsAll attendees of these EOS Conferences receive a 20% discount on the publication rate for JEOS:RP, the e-journal of the European Optical Society (http://www.jeos.org/). The paper submitted to JEOS:RP must be an original contribution that is connected to the conference presentation and must be submitted no later than 15 August, 2009. The publication rate for authors of the event is 280€ (instead of 350€). RegistrationThe registration for this EOS conference includes admission to all conferences of the WORLD OF PHOTONICS CONGRESS 2009 as well as to the LASER World of PHOTONICS 2009 exhibition. Registration will open in 2009. VenueThe ICM – International Congress Centre Munich – is one of the most modern congress centers in the world. It is integrated into the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, located in Munich.
Due to Munich’s excellent infrastructure, the ICM can easily be reached with the public transport.
